Together, let's stay the course!
Dear friends,
In this period of generalised confinement, which offers a short respite to nature, the Fondation de la Mer teams remain fully mobilised and offer support to those involved with the Ocean.
Our collective responsibility is immense: we cannot postpone our commitment to the environment. We no longer have time.
To encourage us to stay the course, we invite you to discover some of the initiatives supported by the Fondation de la Mer.
Together, we share this conviction:
To protect the Ocean is to take care of the whole Earth.

Sabine Roux de Bézieux
President of the Fondation de la Mer

Four young divers, united by their common passion for sharks.
Two years ago, they decided to travel 16,000 kms on a sailboat, with a series of films to share their encounters with sharks.
five species of sharks known to be the most dangerous to humans.
Sublime images and a beautiful adventure that makes us aware of the urgency to protect these "lords of the sea", essential to the balance of the Ocean.

As part of its "Un Geste pour la Mer" programme, the Fondation de la Mer supports Planète Mer, an association that acts to preserve marine life and the human activities that depend on it.
Throughout the duration of the confinement, Planète Mer offers us a regular meeting on social networks entitled "Biodiversity couch".
The idea is to bring marine biodiversity into our homes by discovering marine species through the BioLit educational sheets, Planète Mer's participatory science programme.

Coastal clean-up campaigns have resumed in New Caledonia.
The Hô-üt association is based in Touho, New Caledonia. Since 2013 it is in charge of preserving this area which has been part of the World Heritage of Humanity (Unesco) since 2008.
Barely deconfined, the teams of the Hô-üt association resumed last week their beach cleanings. Their regular work is fundamental because the beaches of this region are a nesting place for sea turtles.
